Dr. Steven Shake has proudly called Owensboro home since 1992, when he helped launch the first Walmart optical center in Kentucky. After years of serving the community through Eye Mart, Steven opened Owensboro Family Eye Care in 2002. With the support of a loyal patient base and one of the hardest-working teams in the Commonwealth, he built a successful local business rooted in service, integrity, and care.

Steven believes in investing in people and community — values that have guided both his professional life and his commitment to public service. He understands the challenges facing families, small businesses, and rural communities because he’s lived them firsthand.

At home, Steven enjoys time with his golden doodle, Mayberry, and believes in the importance of faith, family, and a future built on common sense and Kentucky values.

Steven is a member and deacon of Panther Creek Baptist Church.
